Places are limited, email sales@solutioncentre.co.zw to reserve your seat. Payment secures your seat and each course is limited to 10 places. Cancellations after payment due date will incur a 20% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than 10 days notice will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

ANIMATION COURSE OUTLINE

A fun and exciting course introducing the learner to animation concepts with practical hands-on projects. 

  • Stop motion animation.
  • Digital animation using computers. 
  • Learners will work towards a final animation project completed by the fourth day.
Basic computer skills are a requirement, but you do not require any prior knowledge of animation or specific software.

JUNIORS: (ages 10 - 14)

  • Day 1: Story Development - kids will work together to develop a simple story idea.
    • Drawing assets: Kids will work on drawing items that will form part of the animation.
    • Storyboarding: A storyboard will be developed.
    • Day 2: Stop Motion capture.
      • Certain assets will be shot against a green-screen in stop motion sequences.
    • Day 3: Compositing.
      • After a quick intro to animation in After Effects, kids will start putting together different components of the animation on computers.
    • Day 4: Final finessing.
      • Quick intro to Garageband and iMovie.
      • Final story put together and uploaded to YouTube.
 

SENIORS: (ages 15 - adult)

  • Day 1: Story Development - work together to develop a simple story idea.
    • Drawing assets: Work on drawing items that will form part of the animation.
    • Storyboarding: A storyboard will be developed.
    • Day 2: Stop Motion capture.
      • Certain assets will be shot against a green-screen in stop motion sequences.
    • Day 3: Compositing.
      • After a quick intro to animation in After Effects, they will start putting together different components of the animation on computers.
      • Add additional computer animated elements.
    • Day 4: Final finessing.
      • Quick intro to Premiere Pro and Garageband.
      • Final story put together and uploaded to YouTube.
  • The main difference between the junior and senior course is the use of Premiere Pro in the senior course and generally the complexity of the final animation.
  • Don't expect miracles in four half-days. We are talking about a 30 second little cute animation - no "Pixar Productions"
  • iPads for shooting the animation will be provided.
  • Drawing equipment will be provided.
  • Programs used will be: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Garageband, iMovie and Adobe Premiere Pro in the case of the adults.
