Web Design Course

The course runs between the 9th and 13th of June 2014, at a cost of $900. A certificate of completion will be issued for each of the software packages covered. Hours are from 9am - 5pm, lunches and teas will be included in the course cost. Venue: Solution Centre, 118 Enterprise Rd, Highlands, Harare.

Day 1:
  • Intro to Web Design.
  • Technology and Terms.
  • HTML and CSS.
  • Principles of good, standards compliant web design.
  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 | CC - the Web Design package of choice for top designers who want to work between design and coding modes easily and seamlessly to create standards compliant, beautifully designed web sites.
Day 2:
Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 | CC - (continued from Day 1)
  • User Interface
  • HTML & CSS in Dreamweaver
  • Forms
  • Creating Web Pages from scratch • Building Dynamic Web Pages
  • Managing Sites
  • Uploading and Maintaining
  • Responsive Design 
Day 3:
Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 | CC - (continued from Day 2).
  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 | CC for Web Design - This is not a comprehensive Photoshop course, but will cover aspects of Photoshop that are important for the web designer.
  • Adobe Illustrator CS6 | CC for Web Design - This is not a comprehensive Illustrator course, but will cover aspects of Illustrator that are useful for web designers.
Day 4:
  • Adobe Muse CC (Intro) - Muse is the brand new Web Design package from Adobe designed for designers from a print oriented background who do not want to have to deal with code. It is purely visual in the way you are able to create high-end web page designs and manage your web sites without the pain of HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc...
  • Adobe Edge Animate CC - Edge Animate is a new set of tools for creating standards compliant cross-browser animation and other content. This is an introductory course exposing the web designer to the new Edge tools. 
Day 5:
  • Project work: Using what has been learned in the four days, we will work on a practical exercise creating web graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator, composing a standards compliant and responsive web site from scratch, publishing the web site to a server; and finally, covering how to easily edit and maintain the site.
Notes:
  • Basic computer skills are a requirement, but you do not require any prior knowledge of Web Design or the software covered.
  • Learners will receive a Certificate of Completion.
  • Learners will receive comprehensive “take-home” PDF notes and course material on a flash drive.
